Sue Ann Van Dermyden is a licensed California attorney specializing in
employment law. After spending 14 years litigating employment matters in state
and federal courts, Sue
Ann now specializes in conducting workplace investigations. She has handled
hundreds of workplace investigations on all types of employment matters over the
last several years. Sue Ann is skilled in all aspects of the workplace
investigative process, including testifying at administrative and judicial
proceedings.
In addition to her focus on workplace
investigations, Sue Ann regularly provides advice
and counseling on employment matters. She is
skilled in the area of negotiations and resolving
matters at the ground level, before any legal
intervention is necessary. Sue Ann regularly
lectures on all topics involving employment issues
and has written extensively in this area. Sue Ann
has also created and presented an extensive course
on conducting internal workplace investigations and
report writing. Sue Ann is a former partner of
Hanson Bridgett Marcus Vlahos & Rudy. She founded
the Van Dermyden Law Corporation in 2006, and in
October 2007, Teri Block joined the Firm, now known
as VanDermyden Block Law.
Sue Ann grew up on a fifth generation farm in
North Dakota and graduated from Wahpeton High School
in 1983. She moved to California and attended
California State University, Chico, where she earned
a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science with a
minor in Business Administration in 1990. She
attended University of the Pacific, McGeorge School
of Law and received her Juris Doctor in 1993.
